We believe in full transparency about what we measure and what we don't. Here's exactly how CB Monitor works.

What We Track
Included in our data:
  • Public tips — all tokens tipped in the public chat room, with exact amounts and usernames
  • Chat messages — all public chat messages with timestamps
  • Viewer counts — real-time viewer numbers polled from Chaturbate's API
  • Online/offline status — when a model goes live, goes offline, enters private, or goes away
  • User activity — who enters the room, their metadata (gender, token status, mod status, fan club)
  • Session recordings — video capture of your favorite (starred) models only (Pro tier)
  • Room titles — tracked with each session
  • All room sizes — we track models regardless of viewer count (no minimum threshold)
NOT included in our data:
  • Private show income — we cannot see what happens in private shows, including tips during privates
  • Private tips — tips sent privately (visible only to the model) are not captured
  • Fan club memberships — subscription revenue from fan clubs is not tracked
  • Video/photo purchases — sales from the model's content store are not visible
  • Offline tips — tips sent when the model is not streaming
  • Other platforms — we only track Chaturbate (not Stripchat, BongaCams, Sextpanther, etc.)
  • First ~60 seconds — there's a brief delay between a model going live and our system connecting
How Accurate Is Our Data?

For public tip income on Chaturbate, our accuracy is typically 90-95%.

The small gap comes from:

  • The brief connection delay when a model first goes live (~60 seconds)
  • Rare network interruptions that may cause a few tips to be missed
  • Tips that happen in the exact moment between polling cycles

However, the earnings figures you see on CB Monitor represent only public tip income. For many models, this can be as low as 25-40% of their total income, depending on how much they earn from private shows, fan clubs, video sales, and other platforms.

What does this mean in practice?

If CB Monitor shows a model earned $1,000 in public tips, their actual total income could be anywhere from $1,000 to $4,000+ depending on their private show activity, fan club, and content sales.

We always show public tip data only. We never estimate or extrapolate total income.

How We Collect Data
  1. Status polling — We check each model's status via Chaturbate's public API every 60 seconds to detect when they go online or offline.
  2. Chat capture — When a model goes live, we connect to their public chat room via websocket and capture all publicly visible messages, tips, and user events in real-time.
  3. Data storage — All captured data is stored with precise timestamps and preserved in its original form for accuracy.
  4. Deduplication — We have multiple layers of deduplication to prevent the same tip or message from being counted twice.
  5. 24/7 monitoring — Our system runs continuously. We don't have a minimum viewer threshold — we track every model we monitor regardless of room size.
Token-to-USD Conversion

We convert tokens to USD at a rate of $0.05 per token, which is the standard Chaturbate model payout rate. This means:

  • 100 tokens = $5.00
  • 1,000 tokens = $50.00
  • 10,000 tokens = $500.00

Note: Viewers pay approximately $0.08-$0.11 per token depending on the package they purchase. The $0.05 rate reflects what the model actually receives, not what the viewer pays.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't you track private shows?

Private show data is not publicly accessible. Only the model and the paying viewer can see what happens in a private show. We only collect data that is publicly visible to any visitor of the platform.

Why is the earnings number lower than what the model actually makes?

Because we only show public tip income. Models earn from multiple sources: public tips, private shows, fan club memberships, video sales, and sometimes multiple platforms. Our numbers represent only the public tip portion.

Do you track rooms with few viewers?

Yes. Unlike some other analytics tools, we have no minimum viewer threshold. If we're monitoring a model, we track them regardless of whether they have 5 viewers or 5,000.

How quickly do you start tracking when a model goes live?

Our system detects a model going online within approximately 60 seconds. There may be a brief window at the very start of a stream where early tips are not captured.

Can models opt out of being tracked?

Yes. If you are a Chaturbate model and would like your data removed from CB Monitor, please contact us at support@cbmonitor.net.
